Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B. Sc. Nursing)

The college is offering following courses which are recognized and affiliated with Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University(HNGU) and recognized by Govt of Gujarat.

Recognized by: Indian Nursing Council (INC) & Gujarat Nursing Council (GNC)

Eligibility:

  1. The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
  2. A candidate must have passed in the subject of Physics, chemistry and biology (PCB) and English individually and must have obtain a minimum of 45% marks taken together in PCB at the qualifying examination.
  3. A candidate are also eligible from state open school recognized by state government and national institute of open school recognized by central government having science subjects and English only.
  4. A candidate belonging to SC, ST or other backward classes, the marks obtained in PCB taken together in qualifying examination is to be 40%.
  5. English is compulsory subject in 10+2 for being eligible for admission to B. Sc. Nursing.
  6. A candidate shall be medically fit.
  7. A candidate shall be admitted once in year.
  8. Admission is allowed for married candidate also.

Admission Procedure:

Government Quota Seats (75% of Total Seats) Admission through Centralized Medical Admission Committee of Govt. Of Gujarat on the basis of merit at B. J. Medical College Ahmedabad.

Management Quota Seats (25% of Total Seats), Admission will be done by the Institute as per Honorable Supreme Court of India / Govt. of Gujarat / HNGU.

Intake capacity (Total Seats): 60 seats

Fee Structure:

As per Fee regulatory Committee. College does not take any other fees like: Computer, Laboratory, Library, Clinical Posting & Sports, Transporation Etc.

Course Duration:

A four year degree course, including internship training in the various departments as laid down by the Indian Nursing Council and HNGU.

Aim of the course:

The general aim of the B.Sc. Nursing Degree programme is to provide the learning atmosphere and opportunities for students to train NURSES equipped with knowledge, competence and commitment, who are self directed individuals and responsible citizens. They are prepare to give comprehensive nursing care to individuals, families and community in health as well as in illness. Further, they are expected to participate in teaching and managerial functions in nursing education and nursing practice.

Objectives of the course:

On completion of the B.Sc. Nursing Degree programme, the graduate nurses are able to:

  1. Function as self directed individuals and responsible citizens.
  2. Identify the influence of sociocultural, political, religious and economic factors on health and illness.
  3. Utilize knowledge of behavioural, social, physical, physiological, medical and nursing sciences in their nursing practice.
  4. Provide comprehensive/holistic nursing care, using nursing process or problem solving approach, to people of all ages at different sections in health as well as in illness.
  5. Demonstrate skills in teaching, management, research, guidance and counseling.
  6. Take leadership; develop ability to make sound decisions and creative thinking.
  7. Demonstrate skills in communication and in developing interpersonal relationships when working collaboratively with members of various disciplines.
  8. Participate for the continuing professional development of self and for the advancement of nursing profession and professional organizations.

F. Y. B. Sc. Nursing:English, Anatomy, Physiology, Nutrition, Biochemistry, Nursing Foundations, Psychology, Microbiology, Introduction to Computer, Hindi or Regional Language.

S. Y. B. Sc. Nursing: Sociology, Pharmacology, Pathology & Genetics, Medical Surgical Nursing I – Adult including Geriatrics, Community Health Nursing I, Communication & Educational Technology.

T. Y. B. Sc. Nursing: Medical Surgical Nursing II – Adult including Geriatrics, Child Health Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Nursing Research and Statistics .

Final. Y. B. Sc. Nursing: Midwifery & Obstetrical Nursing, Community Health Nursing II, Midwifery & Obstetrical Nursing (Practical), Management of Nursing Services and Education.
